Guide to Internet Access

In this section, you will become familiar with how to connect to the university’s internet, as well as the volume and speed of the internet service.

Guide to Connecting to the University WIFI:

Select USC-WIFI from your device’s WIFI menu and enter the password usc@1400.

Guide to Accessing the Internet on the University’s Internal Network:

If the authentication or internet login page does not open automatically in your browser, please follow the steps below:

  1. In your browser’s address bar, type the URL for the authentication or internet login page: usc.net.

On this page, if you have not previously authenticated, the internet login page (Figure 1) will appear. Otherwise, you can log out if needed on this same page (Figure 2). If you encounter Figure 2, it means you are connected to the network and can use the internet.

  1. On the internet login page, enter your username and password.
  • Username: Student ID number
  • Password: National ID number without leading zeros

Bandwidth and Allocation for Students:

  • Internet Speed: 6M
  • Daily Internet Quota: 3G

Notes:

  1. Each user can authenticate and connect to the internet from a maximum of two devices simultaneously.
  2. Membership is only available for faculty members, students, and staff of the university. Individuals outside these three groups who need internet access within the university must refer to the relevant IT unit.
  3. The daily quota does not roll over and will not be carried over to the next day at the end of the period.
